No change in corruption perception index for Serbia - 85th place on list of 180 countries

On this year's list "Transparency International", with the corruption perception index of 3.4, Serbia is still among the countries that have serious problems with corruption.

The index remained the same as in 2007, so that Serbia, which was the 79th last year, now shares the 85th place with Montenegro, Albania, India, Madagascar, Panama and Senegal.


There are 180 countries on the list that is presented in all branch offices of "Transparency" and their indices range between 1.0 and 10 - from Somalia with index 1.0 to Denmark, New Zealand and Sweden with index 9.3.

The indices are calculated on the basis of minimum 3 out of 13 researches conducted in the last two years, mainly among businessmen and investors.

This year, Serbia is ranked on the basis of information from six researches based on data from year 2007 and year 2008.
