As B92 announced, Italian factory "Iveco" is going to sign the contract with "Zastava" on the same day as "Fiat" - September 29th.

- "Iveco" will be producing buses in Kragujevac and, according to the plan, production of trucks will be larger - the Deputy Mayor of Kragujevac, Nebojša Zdravković, confirmed for B92. The investments of "Fiat" and "Iveco" will be the biggest in Serbia since October 5th, 2000.

- "Iveco" will sign the memorandum of strategic cooperation with Serbia, and the details will be defined later - said the Deputy Mayor of Kragujevac and a member of the negotiating team, Nebojša Zdravković.

And while the workers of "Zastava" were in fear of possible stoppage of truck production, the agreement was reached with "Iveco" on growth of production of trucks. The sides also agreed on commencement of production of buses.

They also agreed on construction of brand new factory, but the details of that agreement have not been revealed yet. According to the expectations, "Fiat" and "Iveco" will invest over 1 billion EUR in Kragujevac, which will be the biggest investment in an industry in Serbia.

- I do not know the details of this contract and, therefore, I can not speak about numbers, but it is most likely that the parallel signing will take the place; that is, the contract with "Iveco" will be signed on the same day as the contract with "Fiat"- says Alessandro Merola, the Ambassador of Italy to Belgrade.

- The information that I have is that "Iveco" wants to join that big automobile production by introducing the production of buses- says he.

That was also indicated by the Ministry of Economy in the recent announcement where it is also stated that, in addition to the agreement on signing of the contract on strategic cooperation, Deputy President of "Fiat", Alfredo Altavilla, presented investment plans of "Iveco" and other companies within Fiat group.

Realization of the plans will result in creation of few thousands new jobs.

Let us remind that "Iveco" has recently asked for 200 ha of land for construction of the new factory.
