Agreement of Serbia and Turkey on inciting and protecting investments harmonized – Signing in December 2017

The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia and the Ministry of Economy of Turkey today harmonized the contents of the new agreement on mutual stimulation and protection of investments between the two countries, which is to replace the old agreement of 2001. As the press release states, the new agreement defines the rights and obligations of foreign investments, while also guaranteeing international legal protection and an adequate treatment of investments, thereby sending a positive signal for the arrival of new investors from Turkey to Serbia.

– The signing of the new agreement will contribute to an enhancement of bilateral relations of the two countries, especially to increasing the amount of Turkish investments in Serbia, which are undergoing an expansion and which are very important to the total economic development – says the press release by the Ministry of Trade and Tourism.

The agreement is to be signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Rasim Ljajic and Minister of Economy of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci in December.
