Management of new military plant Zastava TERVO Kragujevac appointed

With the appointment of the Supervisory Boards and a temporary management, the new military plant, Zastava Terenska Vozila (Zastava TERVO) officially started operating in the location and the facilities of Zastava Kamioni, as previously announced.

Fairly soon, the factory will start producing military, police and commercial all-terrain vehicles, and they are already producing armored turrets for the new combat vehicle Morava, which the Kragujevac-based plant is producing in cooperation with FAP Priboj and Prva Petoletka Trstenik.

The Government of Serbia recently set aside EUR 2.5 million for the reconstruction of the facility of the former Zastava truck factory and the procurement of modern equipment, which, according to available information, should arrive from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The former director of the Zastava Vozila Group, Dragan Srejovic, says that the amount of EUR 2.5 million is the first investment in the production of freight and all-terrain vehicles in Zastava in the past 30 years. The money is almost certainly not sufficient for all the planned works in the factory, but people in Zastava have been assured by the competent institutions that there will be new investments in Zastava TERVO next year, according to Srejovic.

It is expected that the reconstruction of the facility and the procurement and installation of new equipment will last throughout 2018, which means that the production of non-combat military, police and commercial vehicles will be able to start in early 2019.
