Jagodina to convert debts of Industrija Kablova into company capital

The Council of the City Assembly of Jagodina has decided to convert the city's claims towards Industrija Kablova into the share of the city in the company's capital.

The decision is to be adopted on Monday, at the session of the City Assembly, following which it will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance – Tax Administration, says the explanation by the City Council, signed by the mayor of Jagodina, Ratko Stevanovic.

The claims in question pertain to the period until August 31, 2016, and the amount and the interest until the date of the PPRP will be determined by the Record of the competent unit of the Ministry of Finance, the Tax Administration, the decision states.

The claims of the City of Jagodina towards Industrija Kablova amount to RSD 272,122,095, and the Government of Serbia has imposed the measure of converting the claims towards IK to other state creditors by the decision of August 17. The creditors are: the Development Fund, the Deposit Insurance Agency, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, the National Health Insurance Fund, the National Employment Service, the municipalities of the Pomoravlje District, Cuprija, Paracin, Rekovac, Despotovac, Svilajnac, Batocina, Cicevac...

Industrija Kablova Jagodina, a former Yugoslavian giant, is now subject to the Pre-Packaged Reorganization Plan, the adoption of which is expected by the company's trade union to take place this year.

In August 2016, the company was left by 850 workers through the social program, bringing the number down to 400.

Industrija Kablova is operational and it exports its products, being one of the top ten exporters in Sumadija and Pomoravlje according to the Regional Chamber of Commerce.
