Alexandrov Park opens in Belgrade

With the unveiling of the commemorative plaque and the planting of a birch tree, the Alexandrov Park was opened symbolically on Friday, November 10, 2017, at the initiative of Minister of Culture and Information of Serbia Vladan Vukosavljevic.

– The Alexandrov Ensemble has left a deep and indelible mark in the Serbian people's collective memory, thanks to its extraordinary artistic and, much more importantly for us, human qualities – Vukosavljevic said.

The Alexandrov choir was founded in 1928 by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov, the author of the State Anthem of the Soviet Union and Russia.

– The park should be filled with even more beautiful features in order to become an attractive place to take a walk through and a place of joy for the people of Belgrade – Ambassador of Russia to Serbia Alexander Chepurin pointed out.

The Ensemble performed four numbers at the opening ceremony.
