"Fiat" arrives on September 29

The contract between Italian automobile giant "Fiat" and Kragujevac-based "Zastava" will be signed on September 29 in the Government of Serbia.

Following the agreement on details, the most suitable date has been determined in order for the high officials of Serbia and Italy to be present at the signing of the contract and, thus, give additional significance to the deal of the century in šumadija.

Because of the numerous obligations of the government officials, the date has not been finally confirmed, but it almost for certain that there will be no more delays.

Serbian side will be represented by President of Serbia, Boris Tadić (he is coming back from New York on September 27), Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković, numerous Serbian ministers and management of "Zastava".
It is expected that Italy will send Italian Chief of Diplomacy, Franko Fratini, and management of Italian "Fiat group" led by President of the company, Sergio Markione.

Torino-based factory and the Government of Serbia will form a join venture where "Fiat" will have 70%, while our country will own 30% of the property.

People from "Fiat" announced that, in addition to larger production of "Fiat punto", which is already being assembled in Kragujevac, they would introduce two brand new models within next two years.
