Company "U.S Steel" Serbia to have new production line built - investment worth 100m USD

Company "U.S Steel" Serbia will have a new production line for zinc-coating built, in which 100m USD will be invested.

The Executive Manager of company "U.S. Steel Serbia", Richard Vič, said at the meeting in Belgrade, occasioned by the fifth anniversary of presence of that company in Serbia, that that production line would require 50 new workers and that about 225 workers would be engaged in construction of that unit.

- We expect that the construction will last for 20 months and we will start the works as soon as we get all the necessary permits and licenses - said Vič.

He said that "U.S. Steel" would then be able to produce new high-quality products that would satisfy demands for high-quality steel on the territory of former Yugoslavia.

Vič also said that that company would invest over 50m USD in the environment protection projects within the next two years and he added that implementation of some of the project had already been underway.

Company "U.S Steel Serbia" has units in Smederevo, Šabac and Kučevo and it has total of 6,000 workers. This company is also the largest exporter in Serbia.
