Austrian consortium led by Martin Schlaf announced that it had taken over share of Moscow-based BK trade in Mobtel 063. The price will not be announced because the Consortium and Bogoljub Karić adopted “joint statement on secrecy of the information”, but, according to the previous estimates that are the results of the analysis carried out by Raiffeisen bank, the Consortium was to pay between 350 and 400 million EUR, because Mobtel was estimated to about 900 million EUR.
Austrian consortium made of Martin Schlaf, Josef Taus and Herbert Kort, took the first steps by choosing Schlaff and Kort for the members of the Administrative Board, whereas it was suggested that John Brekenfelder should become the director. Kort and Schlaff were successful managers in Bulgarian Mobitel, while Brekenfelder has long experience as the manager in the field of telecommunications.
There are also some speculations with the version that Karić did not sell Mobtel, but only alloted it to the Consortium on certain period of time in order to allow foreigners to solve ownership problems with PTT Srbija, i.e. Serbia, in much easier way.
