Hotel Fontana in Vrnjacka Banja to get a new look from May 1 – Reconstruction worth EUR 4 million

(Future look of Hotel Fontana in Vrnjacka Banja) The renowned Hotel Fontana in Vrnjacka Banja will get a whole new look in 2018, and EUR 4 million will be invested in its reconstruction, eKapija learns.

Fontana got a new owner this spring, Energotehnika Juzna Backa, which intends to bring the tourist facility back to its former glory.

– The plan is to renovate the accommodation units, the restaurants and the lobby bar. Furthermore, guests will be able to enjoy fully modernized additional features, as the works on a wellness and spa center, a fitness center and an indoor pool and a conference hall are also planned – Hotel Fontana says for eKapija.

The renovation will start on November 1, and the opening is scheduled for May 1, 2018.

Following the reconstruction, Hotel Fontana will offer a total of 244 comfortable and well equipped accommodation units (rooms and apartments). A number of rooms will be adapted for people with disabilities.

Hotel Fontana expects various groups of tourists.

Those planning a vacation and relaxation with family and friends will be provided with varied packages entailing the usage of the wellness and spa center, as well as a tour of cultural and historical highlights in the Vrnjacka Banja area.

On the other hand, business people will be provided with a space for seminaries, conventions and meetings, various types of presentations etc. Following the renovation, the hall will feature all the necessary audio-visual equipment and professional lighting.

Vrnjacka Banja has been a renowned spa for centuries and the third target group are, accordingly, guests looking for medical services and examinations by medical specialists.

As they say at Hotel Fontana, thanks to a favorable climate, reconstructed sports courts and excellent accommodation, they plan to welcome a large number of training athletes as soon as next season.

Let us remind that Hotel Fontana was bought this April by Energotehnika Juzna Backa at a public auction at the starting price of RSD 136,520,425 (slightly over a million euros).

Fontana is the first modern high-category hotel in Vrnjacka Banja. It was built back in 1965 and extended and adapted in 1975 in order to, as announced at the time, “provide a modern guest with the needed comfort”. It is located in the center of Vrnjacka Banja, only a few steps away from the famous Sparrow Gocko mascot, the Bridge of Love, the park and the popular promenade.
