Belgrade Museum of Contemporary Art opens – Free admission by October 27

After a 10-year break, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade opened for public today at 10 am.

On the occasion of the opening, the exhibit called “Sequences. The Art of Yugoslavia and Serbia from the Collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art”, featuring over 300 artworks which have marked the period from the beginning of the 20th century, was organized.

The author of the exhibit is Dejan Sretenovic, whereas Misela Blanusa and Zoran Eric are the curators.

The exhibit, which takes up the museum’s five floors, is structured as a row of 18 sequences, loosely grouped around the chronological axis which tracks the historical development of art in Yugoslavia and Serbia over a period of more than a century. The term “sequences”, taken from the film terminology, relates to art movements and tendencies.

Admission is free at all hours until October 27. Three bus lines have been temporarily introduced, transporting passengers from the Republic Square, the Vuk Monument and Banovo Brdo to the museum.
