Facebook introduces self-destructing statuses – News Feed to include friend posts only from now on

It seems that the new option is inspired by Snapchat, which Facebook has copied on many occasions.
The new temporary statuses will be limited to 101 characters, and users will be able to set up for how long they will be visible on the network and where.
The option resembles the Facebook Stories tool, through which users shared photographs and videos and which were placed on top of the News Feed. Although they have proven to be successful on Instagram and WhatsApp, they were a total failure on Facebook.
It seems that Facebook has a problem keeping the younger population, which is spending increasingly more time on Instagram and Snapchat.
At the same time, Facebook has implemented the option for showing only friend posts on the News Feed, eschewing the liked pages.
A new desktop and app feature called Explore Feed has already been implemented for certain users. This feed will show the content of the liked pages and those similar in content.
A rocket-shaped icon is located in the upper left corner, below the News Feed, on desktop systems, whereas the app features it at the top of the page.
Facebook has been testing the option for months and has now officially launched it. The company says in a statement: “We've heard from people that they want an easy way to explore relevant content from Pages they haven't connected with yet. We are beginning to roll out a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, automatically customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them”.
