Gemax tennis courts auctioned for EUR 4 million – Sale of property of Djordjo Antelj's construction company advertised

The bankruptcy supervisor of the construction company Gemax has advertised the sale of the property of the bankruptcy debtor, and the popular eponymous sports facility in the Banjicki Venac Street should thereby get a new owner soon, after much speculation in the public. The property in this location, not far from the Red Star FC stadium, which consists of 9,712 m2 of building land, a head office building, a sports hall, a garage and tennis courts, is among the most valuable lots of Gemax and has been estimated at RSD 969,808,305.69, whereas the initial price is RSD 484,904,152.85 (around EUR 4 million).

The sports facility of Gemax in the Banjicki Venac Street has been the only tennis court complex for a long time, and the tennis club has won state championships in various categories. It is also the place where renowned Serbian tennis players Jelena Jankovic and Nenad Zimonjic used to train for a long time.

The property of Gemax is being sold in line with the Decision on Bankruptcy by the Commercial Court of Belgrade of July 6, 2017, and is divided into 22 lots, and Gemax has also been put up for sale as a legal entity at the initial price of RSD 564,197,891.65. Gemax was one of the first private construction companies in Serbia, owned by Djordjo Antelj, and their projects include, among others, the Porsche Group facility in Serbia, the Doncafe plant, the TV Pink building, the seat of UniCredit Bank, the infrastructure for the Usce shopping mall and the Olympic Village for the 2009 Universiade, as well as all Metro Cash &Carry Serbia facilities.

The most important pieces of property of the bankruptcy debtor being sold are the production hall at BB Batajnicki Drum Street, a mechanics and service workshop, a warehouse, a reinforcement facility, 45,595 m2 of land, equipment, building machines, supplies etc.

Among the remaining lots are residential facilities, apartments and garages in the Omladinska Street, an apartment in Vrnjacka Banja, building and agricultural land, the concrete base ELKON, an outlet at the YUBC...

The public bidding will be held on November 6, and interested persons need to pay the deposit in the amount of 20% of the estimated value of the lot in question.

The Commercial Court of Belgrade initiated the previous procedure for examining the conditions for initiating bankruptcy proceedings in line with the PPRP back in 2013.
