"Medela" announced investments worth 2.7m EUR - 2m EUR to be invested in commencement of production of salty portfolio

Confectionery factory "Medela", which
operates as a part of "Invej", has announced investments worth more than 2.7m
EUR.
The Executive Manager of "Invej", Stanko Tomović, says that the
largest investment of 2m EUR will be placed in the line for production of salty
sticks and commencement of production of salty portfolio.
- Prior to the end of the year, we will also invest in modernization of
packing unit and construction of warehouse for ready-made goods with complete
equipment, which will cost us 650,000 EUR - he specified.
According to the words of Tomović, "Medela" increased production of strudel and candies by 41.5%, to 1,718 tons.
- The growth of sales was expected due to, first of all, investments in new equipment and new design of packaging - says Tomović. He added that, having in mind the development of technology and procurement of the top-quality raw materials, redesigned packaging and projected investments, "Medela" expects about 60% larger production this year than in 2007.
Tomović pointed out that, among the 100 products of "Medela", the most is expected from the strudel sales, so that the production of this confectionery will be increased by about 20%.
As he pointed out, strudel represented half of total production of 1,781 tons of goods in the first half of the year, while fig strudel won certificate "healthy food - green apple".
As Tomović pointed out, "Medela" is export-oriented company that exports about
60% of production to Slovenia, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and other countries.
