The disassembled components of the aircraft were delivered by the Russian Antonov 124 airlift jet from Moscow. Due to the sensitive nature of the transport, the flight was late by nearly two hours.
According to the plan, all the parts of six Russian jets should arrive to Belgrade by Friday, October 6, following which they will be assembled by Serbian and Russian technicians, so that they could premiere on October 20, the date of the liberation of Belgrade in WW2.
The six MiG jets have been donated by Russia, but will need to be overhauled after the promotion.
