The vice president of the Provincial Government, Djordje Milicevic, talked to a political and business delegation from Italy, headed by Marco Zanni, a member of the European parliament, about raising the economic cooperation to a considerably higher level through new investments in Vojvodina, on Friday, September 22, 2017.

As stated on the website of the Provincial Government, Milicevic reminded that the total volume of Serbia's trade with Italy in 2016 amounted to USD 3.7 billion, with Vojvodina participating with a billion dollars, and estimated that, with the current tempo of economic cooperation, the two countries might soon get close to the goal of four billion dollars in trade.

Zanni pointed out that Vojvodina was especially interesting to Italian investors as the most developed part of Serbia, which is a gate to the East and the Balkans for Italy.

Milicevic introduced the members of the Italian delegation to the economic potentials of Serbia and Vojvodina and presented them with all the measures taken by the Provincial Government to the end of attracting new investments.

– Compared to an earlier period, we have considerably improved incentives for investments and introduced additional benefits investors can count on in making new investments in Vojvodina – Milicevic pointed out and added that he was convinced that this acted as an additional motivation for both Italian investors and other foreign ones, as well as local investors, to use the favorable conditions and the business climate in Serbia.

Cooperation to the end of joint ventures in third markets is especially significant, it was agreed at the meeting, which was attended, in addition to Italian members of the European Parliament, by numerous businessmen from Lombardy interested in doing business in Vojvodina.

In addition to agriculture, Italian businessmen are also looking to invest in the textile industry, the steel industry and the field of IT.

The guests from Italy will also talk to representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Development Agency of Vojvodina, as well as local businessmen, to the end of presenting Vojvodina's potentials and its favorable conditions for new investments by Italian businessmen.
