The Belgian airline VLM Airlines plans to implement the Maribor-Belgrade air route beginning with next month, connecting the two cities for the first time in over 20 years.

According to the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, the flights should start on October 9 and be conducted each day from Monday till Friday.

Although the Belgian company, whose owner also runs the Maribor Airport, has not yet confirmed this information, it has indicated several times that it intends to establish a route to Belgrade.

The Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport plans for the arrival of the plane from Maribor to take place around noon, whereas its return to Maribor is planned for around an hour later.

The last time the airline between Belgrade and Maribor was operational was in 1992, prior to the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, Wisebroker reports.
