Pantelic said that the Memorandum of Cooperation provided the YFA with the option of an all-encompassing cooperation with the Chinese film institutions and reminded that the process had started the previous year by the signing of one such document with the China Film Archive.
Pantelic explains that the protocol enables the mutual preservation and promotion of the film legacies of the two countries, an exchange of film programs and participation in joint projects which aim to affirm and promote the Chinese and the Serbian film.
He also says that the YFA will host the said exhibit, which arrives to Serbia after visiting the US, Switzerland, Russia and Belarus. This is a special exhibit of the China National Film Museum, founded in 2005, on the 100th anniversary of Chinese film.
The museum building has 40,000 square meters, 20 exhibition halls, six movie theaters and a collection of over 100,000 items and has been visited by four million people so far.
The exhibit “112 Years of Chinese Film”, authored by Wang Hunghua, consists of two wholes: the first part presents the history of the Chinese film, whereas the second one is an homage to the former Yugoslavian partisan movies. The history of Chinese film will be presented through panels (in Chinese and Serbia), and visitors will be introduced to the traditional manufacture of these silk-based panels.
Glass displays will feature figurines made of silk and clay sculptures, which will present a shadow play from the Han dynasty period, a scene from the first Chinese film, The Battle of Dingjunshan, and the creation of the Chinese national anthem, “March of the Volunteers”.
