Minister of Energy and Mining of Serbia, Petar Škundrić, put the factory for production of briquettes into operation yesterday (August 24, 2008) in Nova Varoš's village of Akmačići. The factory was founded thanks to joint investment of Belgrade-based "Interkomerc" and Nova Varoš-based company "Briko".
The factory was opened in the presence of the Minister of Trade and Services, Slobodan Milosavljević, presidents of the chambers of commerce of Serbia and Belgrade, representatives of local self-management, entrepreneurs and business partners of "Interkomerc".
- Factory "Interbriko" should be producing about 15,000 cubic meters of ecological fuel and, since its basic raw material is the waste created by large number of sawmills and other wood-processing units, its significance in field of preservation of ecological values of Zlatar mountain is immeasurable - said Goran Perčević, the CEO of "Interkomerc".
The project is realized with the support of the Government of Serbia, that is, the Development Fund, and total investment was worth about 2m EUR. The factory started trial production in May 2008 and it provided top quality of ready-made products in very short time, as well as great chances to start exporting goods into technologically developed countries of Europe.
