Government to brake contract on allotment of concession for Horgoš-Požega highway- Austrian consortium as contractor for works on Horgoš-Novi Sad section

Prior to Wednesday (August 27, 2008), concern "Alpine-Porr" should submit the proposal to the Government of Serbia for cancellation of the contract on concession for construction of Horgoš-Požega highway by mutual consent, as well as the proposal for construction of Horgoš-Novi Sad highway.
The Government will examine these proposals at the next meeting and if the ministers in Cvetković's cabinet decide that everything is in order, they will accept the agreement on construction of Horgoš - Novi Sad highway.
In that case, the contract would be signed prior to mid-September 2008.
If the agreement is reached, the whole highway through Vojvodina should be finished prior to the end of the next year.
- According to the new agreement between Government of Serbia and "Alpine Porr", construction of Horgoš - Novi Sad highway should be financed from the budget of Serbia, but the incomes from road toll will also go to Serbia - said the source of Beta agency in the Government of Serbia.
The Government of Serbia has already provided 250m EUR for that purpose.
One of the conditions of the Government is engagement of local companies in implementation of that project, which was accepted by concern "Alpina Porr".
