(Axel Dittmann and Goran Trivan) Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan talked to Ambassador of Germany to Belgrade Axel Dittmann on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
Minister Trivan said that there was room for enhancing the cooperation of the two countries, especially in the fields of treatment of municipal waste and waste waters, land remediation, afforestation, but also in the fields of climate changes and circular economy, regarding which he expressed special gratitude for the help provided by Germany to Serbia.
– We will pay special attention to investments in waste waters and each investor will be provided with special attention of our state – Minister Trivan emphasized.
Trivan and Dittmann agreed that investments in environmental protection in Serbia needed to be bigger and that, in addition to the capacities of the ministry itself, Serbia needed to also strengthen the capacities of other institutions dealing with environmental protection, such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Institute for Natural Conservation of Serbia, but that the re-establishment of the Agency for Chemicals as an independent institution should also be considered.
Minister Trivan and Ambassador Dittmann emphasized their dedication to enhancing the cooperation in the field of environmental protection between the two countries in the next period.
