EXPO 2017 Astana closed on Sunday, September 10. As the Kovacevic-Spaic office reported, Serbia's pavilion at the fair with 150 years of tradition and a great legacy of scientific-technological patents, which was once again held in Kazakhstan this year, was visited by half a million people, as well as by delegations of over 60 countries.

According to the organizer of the exhibit, the pavilion of the Republic of Serbia was one of the most prominent ones, in both content and appearance.

– We have made all efforts to present Serbia as a country oriented towards innovations and technological development in these three months. The results say that we have succeeded. I sincerely hope that all the praise given to Serbia at EXPO will result in an enhanced image of Serbia in the world, but also in an improvement in the fields of economy and tourism – stated Maja Mandrapa Gasic, assistant to the minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications.

In line with the exhibit's theme of Future Energy, Serbia presented an approach to utilizing, storing and saving energy which might be applicable to all energy sources and is especially focused on renewable energy sources such as sunlight and wind, as well as the energy of a human body, which can be used to a great extent for everyday needs through a development of new technologies and materials. The “energy of ideas”, that is, innovative solutions currently being developed in these fields and a wide possibility of their implementation when it comes to present and future energy challenges, was highlighted as Serbia's main competitive advantage.

The biggest global exhibit, EXPO Astana 2017, opened on June 10 and closed on September 10. The organizer of Serbia's presentation was the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications. A total of 115 countries and 20 international organizations took part in the exhibit.

The partners of Serbia's pavilion in Astana are EPS, Energorpojekt and Feromont Inzenjering.
