– We have just completed it and provided our commentary and the draft company law is supposed to be presented first, followed by amendments and supplement to the Law on Public Procurement.
Amendments to the regulations on import and export of waste as a raw material are also being prepared and, last week, with the help of the prime minister, we managed to remove the barrier for around 70 permits, which were on hold at the time the new ministry was formed, Cadez said.
He also mentioned some of the examples of the initiatives, such as amendments to the Law on Investments and the regulations on the terms and manner of attracting direct investments which aim to enable a duty-free import of goods as an investment by both local and foreign investors, as the option is currently available only to foreign investors.
There's also the initiative for an amendment to the Law on Waste Management, which Cadez claims would raise competitiveness in, for example, the cement industry, which would also have an impact on the construction sector, as it would enable the use of non-hazardous waste. Among the initiatives is also the amendment to the Law on Tobacco, as tobacco producers are not provided with the possibility of processing tobacco per order and selling it to manufacturers of tobacco products or exporting it through tobacco exporters. There's also the initiative for amending the regulation on temporary terms of the turnover of flour.
The presentation of the quarterly analysis of regulations was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who told the press that she had come to hear the propositions made.
– It's good that we are in constant dialogue with the Chamber of Commerce and people from the business sector, thanks to which we have amended 25 bylaws in order to facilitate business activities – Brnabic said.
The institution of the Quarterly analysis of implementation of regulations pertaining to economy was established by the Law on Chambers of Commerce as a new mechanism of communication between the CCIS and the Government of Serbia. The analyses are prepared by the CCIS and submitted to the government periodically.
The presentation was also attended by prominent businessmen which head the most important Serbian companies.
