Domestic cure for tooth decay?

Aspirin might reverse tooth decay without further dental interventions, according to the latest research.

The widely available medicine helps the dental structure affected by tooth decay to initiate a self-healing process, says the research conducted at the University of Belfast.

– There is huge potential to change our approach to one of the biggest dental challenges we face. This novel approach could not only increase the long-term survival of teeth, but could also result in huge savings for the NHS and other healthcare systems worldwide – says Dr Ikhlas El Karim.

Research shows that small doses of aspirin considerably increase the reparation on the minerals securing the strength and the functioning of teeth. Furthermore, aspirin stimulates tooth cells to regenerate lost tooth structure.
