Furthermore, the membership in the WTO would be an important message to foreign investors that Serbia was a stable and predictable investment destination, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications reported.
Ljajic and Fabrizi discussed Serbia's membership in the WTO and the strengthening of regional economic cooperation.
Fabrizi emphasized the EU's readiness to provide professional and other help to Serbia regarding both those questions.
Ljajic introduced Fabrizi to the activities of Serbia and the CEFTA countries in removing non-customs barriers and creating a single economic space.
It was agreed at the meeting that the EU was Serbia's most significant foreign trade partner, that the EU's participation in Serbia's total exports amounted to 67% and that the export-import coverage ratio had reached the all-time peak of over 80%.
