Russian company "Lukoil" will allot its land to the city of Niš because, due to urbanistic problems, the company is not able to open two gas stations on that land. In return, Russian company will get the land where construction and opening of such facilities is possible.

As the people from the Presidency of that city explained, the Mayor of Niš, Miloš Simonović, spoke to the CEO of "Lukoil" for Serbia, Aleksandar Panfilov, who suggested that that company should allot the two locations with gas stations and a building lot to the city, while, in return, the city should allot an adequate city building land to the company from Russia.

Company "Lukoil", which covers one fifth of retail market of oil derivatives in Russia, bought 79.5% of "Beopetrol" in 2003 for 117m EUR.

Following the privatization of "Beopetrol", "Lukoil" took over 144 gas stations in Serbia, two of which are the two gas stations in Niš and they are the only stations that have been closed for four years now.

Large gas station with accompanying contents, which should be built by the Russian company, would represent the beginning of investments of this company in Niš.
