New heating plant in Sombor before beginning of heating season 2009, planning of works and purchase of equipment

Significant investment works on the remote heating system in Sombor are underway. Namely, Public Utility Company "Energana" Sombor and another five heating plants from Serbia signed 20m EUR worth of contract with KfW (German Development Bank) in February 2008 on modernization of the remote heating system.

On that occasion, Public Utility Company "Energana” Sombor announced construction of new heating plant as its priority. That heating plant should be built before the beginning of heating season 2009. Also, the purchase of new boilers will be co-financed from the loan approved by KfW.

In addition to "Energana's" own funds, non-refundable funds approved by the Provincial Secretariat for Energy and Mineral Raw Materials and the Expert Agency for realization of the Program for Economic Development of AP Vojvodina to 9 heating plants in Vojvodina in June 2008 will also be used for modernization and construction.

The works go as planned. Disassembling, construction and mechanical works on the Agroinstitut - Sportska Street section have just been arranged and they are entrusted to company "Energotehna” from Novi Sad.
