BRNABIC: Minimal labor cost will increase
(Ana Brnabic) Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic confirmed that minimum labor cost will be increased, but she could not specify how much this increase will be.
Brnabic says that negotiations on minimum labor cost should finish by September 15.
- I can say with certainty that minimum labor cost will increase, and we are considering some other principles - whether we also raise a non-taxable part of salaries or how can we, as a government, meet as many demands as possible for workers and trade unions, but also to make it easier for employers who have to hire and, I hope, open as many vacancies as possible - Brnabic said at a government press conference.
Prime Minister said that at the moment she cannot say which is the figure that the government is considering, but that it will quickly be revealed, since negotiations on minimum labor costs should finish by September 15.
These negotiations, she added, are running smoothly, but there is a significant difference between what unions are asking for and what employers are willing to accept.
The government, as always, is trying to find a mid-solution between these two things, Brnabic concluded.
