In Serbia, in July 2017, 45% more blocked companies than a year ago

In Serbia, in July this year, there were 45% more blocked companies than a year ago, while there is an equal number of newly set up and closed companies, the Bisnode company has announced today.As stated, total amount of blockade was about RSD 3.5 billion which is almost a third more than in July 2016.Indebtedness of companies declined only in Vojovodina, by 66%, while in the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia companies were 2.2 times more indebted than a year ago.In July, according to Bisnode, 3,344 companies were opened, 1,991 companies were shut down, and 4,102 companies were blocked.- More closed companies and a larger number of blocked ones in July compared to the same period last year points at still unfavourable conditions for conducting business activities, as well as at insolvency issue present in Serbian economy - the company that deals with market risk assessment estimated. It was added that there are more and more companies that are shut down in the period of two years after set up and that number of such companies increased by one third compared to last year.In July, as announced, 38% of companies that have been operating for five to ten years have been shut down.
