Intesa Sanpaolo takes over Swiss Morval Vonwiller Group

Intesa Sanpaolo, an international banking group in which Banca Intesa operates in Serbia, and shareholders of Morval Vonwiller holding have signed an agreement on take over of Swiss group, including Morval Bank.


As announced by Intesa Sanpaolo, the agreement is in line with the strategic plan of the financial institution to strengthen its presence in international markets in the area of private banking.

- Presence in Geneva will allow the Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking Division, which currently operates in Lugano, London and Luxembourg, to expand to the market, according to the statement.

Members of Zanon di Valgiurata family, who founded the Morval Group, and are currently in its management, will remain minority shareholders and will continue to be involved in the management of the Group's affairs.

Relevant regulatory authorities should approve the transaction, it was added in the statement.
