What a Wonderful World song celebrates its 50th birthday
In 1967, musical revolutionary of the early 20th century and one of the most influential artists in jazz history, Armstrong (1901-1971), was somewhat marginalized, the Los Angeles Times wrote.
In 1999, Armstrong's song was included in the Grammy Hall of Fame and since then it has been recorded in numerous musicians' interpretations.
On the occasion of 50th anniversary of the first edition, the Louise Armstrong Museum in Queens, New York, organized the exhibition "50 Years of What a Wonderful World song", which brings rare photographs and musical notes that tell the story of recording and creation of a legendary song.
