Messer Tehnogas profitability grows in first six months of 2017 – Profit reaches RSD 1.07 billion

Technical gas producer and distributor Messer Tehnogas has published consolidated operating results from the first six months, which encompass the operations of the parent company and its branches in Kosovo, B&H and Albania.

Consolidated operating income reached RSD 3.9 billion in the January-June period, 7.4% more than in the corresponding period of last year, whereas operating profit jumped by 26.5% to RSD 1.07 billion, primarily thanks to lower acquisition costs of the goods sold. Net profit rose by 21.5% to RSD 913.4 million, primarily due to foreign exchange losses.

The management noted in the business report that the increased production of the Smederevo steel mill had had a positive impact on MT's activities, but also highlighted the company as the biggest risk once again.

The management expects sales revenues of RSD 7.04 billion and investments of RSD 1 billion in 2017. As for non-consolidated results, Tehnogas realized an operating income of RSD 4.3 billion (a growth by 6.6%) and a net profit of RSD 1.03 billion (a growth by 18.5%), Wisebroker reports.
