The smartphone YouTube app will soon get a multitude of new features, among which are chat options and the possibility of sharing videos with up to 30 friends.
YouTube is thereby practically turning into a social network like Facebook. It will enable a simpler, quicker and more fun video sharing on smartphones, the official YouTube blog says and adds that the option of sharing videos through other apps will remain available, The Verge reports.
This feature was presented to a small group of users in mid-2016, and, since it's proven to be successful, it should soon be made available worldwide.
Furthermore, the option of joint video watching will be implemented as well, allowing the viewers to comment in real time.
