Solution to problem of piling up of waste in front of dam Perućac

The representatives of Bosnian, Serbian and Montenegrin municipalities settled in the valley of the Drina river will meet in September 2005 in order to find solution to the problem of surface waste that is piling up in front of the dam on Perućac lake. This meeting should result in forming of the international Commission for the Drina River. The ship for removal of surface waste on the lake was put into operation in April 2005. The ship was produced in Tuzla-based company "Remont montaža". The ship worth 48,500 EUR was procured with the help of the Office of the Regional Environment Protection Center (REC) in Serbia and Montenegro and with the financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Norway. During the last two months, 2,800 cubic meters of waste were transported in 400 trucks to the dump.
