A group of scientists from the University of Western Australia has designed a suit for surfers which might protect them from shark attacks.

In cooperation with designers, they've come up with two types of suit – a camouflaging one and a suit whose color and patterns indicate to sharks that the wearer is not palatable. Both models are based on natural laws.

The first suit, called Elude and featuring several shades of blue, makes use of sharks' color-blindness, causing the wearer to blend in with the surrounding water and become barely noticeable, if at all, to sharks.

The other one, called Diverter and featuring white and dark-blue stripes, acts as a warning signal to sharks that the prey is not safe to eat.

Each model is available for USD 495, but, as the producers say, it can mean the difference between life and death.
