Despite down fall of kerosene price, charter flights' prices from Belgrade have been raised again

Tourists from Serbia, who are planning to leave today (July, 28th, 2008) to their vacation with charter flights, will be paying taxes two times more expensive, than some much richer British tourist. One 4-member family which takes a charter flight will need to give at least 400 EUR only on taxes.

Recent decision of "Jat Airways" to increase taxes twice this year, has surprised both tourists and tourist agencies, as previous increase was just one month ago. Namely, tax for security, which was introduced after September, 11th, has been raised in June, from 36 EUR to 44 EUR to Greece and 50 EUR to Egypt.

In July, JAT raised taxes to Greece to 56 EUR, to Turkey - 58 EUR, and to Egypt - 74 EUR. Once airport taxes are added to this, total amount passengers pay is three times bigger than in the beginning of the season!

The new increase of "security tax", which practically exists only in Serbia, was introduced because the fuel price was raised. However, since June, the fuel is now cheaper - 150 USD per tone.

- JAT flew on its own damage for two months, in the hope that increase of fuel price would be stopped. Unfortunately, this did not happen, but it grew even more, and JAT was forced to react to this increase of petrol in the whole world - it was explained in the company.

It is interesting that British air companies, which have charter flights, have cancelled security tax. The complete amount (all fees and taxes) for a British tourist who travels to Greece is only 45 EUR, and 65 EUR if he chooses Egypt.
