The old bridge on the Drina, famous for the novel of Ivo Andric carrying the same name, has been put on the top 100 list of the most endangered monuments of the world these days at the World Fund for Heritage in Durban. Together with the bridge of Visegrad, which faces an in-root repair due to the serious damages done to the 13 girder pillars, the core of Mostar with the old bridge has also been put on the list of the world cultural heritage in Durban, which is made of the top 100 most endangered monuments of the world. The old bridge, second year in a row, can be crossed only by pedestrians and tourists, since motor traffic brought about its serious damage in the most part.
