– We are preparing to open towards Europe and, if we don't prepare ourselves now in line with the demands, someone else will come in our place. It's important to open properly to the European market. We have stabilized our position here and want to stay here. New capacities, which will be secured by raising a new hall, are planned. Sometimes it happens that we are forced to reject jobs as we don't have enough space for work, and we also need new workforce – says Domenico Fucito, CEO of Elektroremont.
He emphasizes that “it is positive that all the profit made by Elektroremont in all these years has been reinvested in the plant itself and not gone to Italy”.
The acting director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce, Slobodan Vojinovic, says that he is familiar with the company's need to expand its capacities.
– The company has invested a lot in these ten years, and it has been their funds exclusively at that, employed numerous people and is remarkably responsible in the economic system of Serbia. The CEO of Elektroremont is asking us to quickly resolve all administrative requests in order for them to build another hall on their land. This will lead to an improvement of the quality of work and new employments – Vojinovic says.
Following a successful privatization, Elektroremont, one of the biggest companies for repairing electric machines and equipment in the former Yugoslavian area, has been owned by the Italian investor Applicazioni Elettriche Generali for the past twelve years and employing 140 specialized workers.
