- Serbia should produce enough sugar to satisfy the needs of population and industry this year in spite of the fact that sugar beet was planted at nearly 40% smaller surface than last year - Chamber of Commerce of Serbia estimated.
- Total of 48,726 ha is under sugar beet, which should enable production of more than 200,000 tons of sugar - said the expert associate of the Chamber, Vojislav Stanković.
As he pointed out, with the transient stock of 100,000 tons, that would enable realization of the export quota for European Union in amount of 180,000 tons.
