- Inflow of foreign direct investments in the first half of the year amounted to 808m EUR - Ministry of Finance announced.

Total inflow of foreign investments in Serbia since 2001 amounts to about 10 billion EUR. The largest investments were made in 2006 - about 3.3 billion EUR.

It is estimated that the annual inflow of foreign direct investments should be between 3 and 5 billion EUR within next four years in order for the planned economic goals of the new Government of Serbia to be achieved.

Export of goods from Serbia during the first six months of this year was worth 2.97 billion EUR, while import amounted to 6.39 billion EUR, which means that the foreign-trade deficit amounted to 3.4 billion EUR.

Foreign-trade deficit in 2001 amounted to 2.8 billion EUR and, ever since, it has been costantly growing. The largest deficit was registered last year - 6.9 billion EUR.
