Elon Musk to start a revolution – Traffic to move underground?

Elon Musk seems to be done with innovating on the ground, so he can now move to inventions beneath it.

Musk, as the Chicago media report, is negotiating with the city's mayor, Rahm Emanuel, about the possibility of having a tunnel dug through from the city's center to the O'Hare International Airport.

Emanuel characterized the talks as preliminary.

The chairman of Tesla and SpaceX recently founded a new company with a jokey moniker of the Boring Company in order to start developing the machinery and the techniques for tunnel digging.

Musk's main vision is to create a massive, layered network of underground routes in order to reduce traffic jams in large-population cities such as Los Angeles.

Musk believes that he can reduce the high cost of tunnel building by creating excavating machines capable of working non-stop and at a quicker pace than any machine is capable of doing now, as well as by reducing the diameter of the tunnel.
