The summer road toll regime for motorcycles and passenger cars is to come into effect in Croatia on Saturday, July 1. The road toll is to increase on the highways managed by the Croatian Motorways (HAC) and the Rijeka-Zagreb Motorway (ARZ).

Up till September 30, road tolls will be 10% more expensive than the winter tariffs, Vecernji List reports.

For example, tolls for passenger cars traveling the Zagreb-Split highway will increase from HRK 181 (EUR 24.4) to HRK 199 (EUR 26.8).

The toll on the Zagreb-Rijeka route will amount to HRK 77 (EUR 10.4), seven kunas more than the winter tariff. A drive from Zagreb from Osijek will be more expensive by 12 kunas, amounting to HRK 134 (EUR 18.1).

However, Vecernji List adds, the toll on some HAC and ARZ roads will remain the same, whereas, on some others, it will increase by more than 10%, due to the calculation methodology.
