EUR 0 banknote arrives

Germany has printed a series of EUR 0 banknotes, Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung reports.

As stated, the European Central Bank gave its consent, and the banknotes are to be sold as souvenirs. The banknote, of course, has no value and cannot be used as currency, Sputnik writes.

It is printed on the same paper as all the others and features all the protective measures, including holograms and watermarks.

A total of 5,000 banknotes have been put into circulation. The banknote features the image of the German tall ship Gorch Fock 2 from 1958.

The banknote will be available for purchase at the price of EUR 2.5.
