Law on employee academy in public administration in 2017

The Law on the National Academy for professional development in the public administration should be adopted by the end of the year, and its programs, as the prime minister-designate, Ana Brnabic, announced, will have to be attended by all ministers, public officers and local self-government employees, Danas reports.

It is not known at the moment how long the programs will take and where the seat of the Academy will be, but it is known that everything will be financed from the state budget.

Following the adoption of the law and the official formation of the academy, internal documents will be adopted, regulating the details of the activities of this institution. The deadline for this is 30 days from the adoption of the law.

As the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government says for Danas, the draft law was put up for public review last summer, and the aim is to constantly evaluate the employees in the public administration, within which criteria for advancing, but also being degraded, will be established.

– It is especially significant that the laws expand the scope of professional development to employees and those who are getting prepared to take positions in the bodies and organizations of the public administration, as this was highlighted until now as an illogical omission and a necessity, seeing how these persons are for the most part the creators of public policies and the makers of the most important decisions in the state and the society in general – the ministry explains.
