Shipbuilding company "Vahali Service and Marine" announced today (July 7, 2008) that it would finish construction of passenger ship "MPS Swiss Jewel", worth 16m EUR, and produce 12 ships in the Belgrade shipyard within next year.

Dutch "Vahali Service and Marine" plans to produce 10 dredge ships and one container ship in Belgrade prior to July 2009, as well as one passenger ship prior to April 2009.

The ship, which will be ready for sailing on July 8, is ordered by Dutch-Swiss company with which "Vahali" signed the contract on construction of three passenger ships in October 2007.

The steel body of the ship weighs 750 tons. The finishing works will be carried out in Netherlands.

"Vahali" is the Dutch company that rented the space of the Belgrade shipyard in 2005.
