Artistic installation or training? - "rented sprinters" running in gallery

Artist Martin Creed has set up the new artistic installation - "rented sprinters" who will be running through the gallery every 30 seconds during the next four months!

The installation sponsored by "Sotheby`s" is named "Work No.850" and it will be put on display on July 2nd, 2008, in Tate Gallery in Britain.

Creed, who won the Turner award in 2001 for the light that goes on and off, explained his latest installation with the words: "I love running".

- I love running because it is opposed to stillness. If you think about death as "the final form of stillness", then the running is the greatest and the best symbol of living - said the author.

He got the idea when he was visiting catacombs on Sicily where he arrived minutes before closing.

- I had only five minutes to see the crypt and I was literally forced to run in order to see everything in such a short time!

Tate museum put the followin warning on its official web site: For reasons of safety, we ask the public not to run or obstruct the runners.
