Energy Community invites Serbia to adopt a set of changes to Law on energy

The Energy Community has invited Serbia to adopt a set of amendments to the Law on Energy governing state support for renewable energy sources so that Serbia could harmonize legal framework with the European UnionBalkan Green Energy News portal has published today.

Proposed changes comprise implementation of public tender procedure to determine who will be beneficiary of the support, elimination of temporary status of a privileged producer of electricity, balance responsibility and introduction of operator for energy from renewable sources.

Head of the Energy Community Janez Kopac informed in a letter representatives of the Committee of Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy of the Serbian Parliament about the next steps which Serbia, as a member of the Energy Community, should make in order to harmonize legal framework with EU law.
