Agreement on Belgrade-Sarajevo highway route still far away

Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Serbian Nedjo Trninic said that Srpska, at the upcoming meeting on the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, will meet with current information and review proposals, and said that the agreement on the route is still far away.

Before the meeting of the resource ministries from entities and Bosnia and Herzegovina on this road which will be held in Sarajevo June 19, Trninic said that it is possible to raise some questions of roads directions but that the attitude of Srpska is familiar.

- At the meeting in Sarajevo, I will look for specific answers. The Government of Srpska does not run from the story of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, but we represent the interests of Srpske – Trninic said.

He said that Turkish investors have been mentioned in public in connection with the construction of this road but there is no reliable information about that, nor about mentioned routes.Since this is a huge investment, Trninic points out that it is now perhaps the most realistic that with construction of another lane, Sarajevo-Belgrade route is extended. The public says that one of the routes of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway would go only through the territory of Srpska while the second would extend to the part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, around Zepca and Tuzla and then to Bijeljina and Belgrade.
