"Monbat" in Inđija - processing of 20,000 tons of old car batteries per year

- Factory for recycling of used car batteries "Monbat", which will be opened in Inđija, will have the processing capacity of about 20,000 tons of old car batteries per year, which will contribute to reduction of environment pollution - Marina Bošnjović, PR of that factory, pointed out.

At the press conference occasioned by the commencement of operations in that factory, she specified that the used car batteries and lead remains would be processed and then sent to the market as semi-finished products. She explained that the technological basis of the processing project was production of lead-based alloys.

- Ecological effects and significant social goals are achieved by means of processing of car batteries and introduction of the up-to-date technology in accordance with the demands of the European Commission - said she and added that the network for collecting old car batteries would be organized on several points all around Serbia.

Professor from Belgrade-based Faculty of Metallurgy, Željko Kamberović, pointed out that the processing process in the factory was designed with the aim of making environment pollution minimal.

The whole car battery processing procedure in the factory will be supervised by the Health Care Institute of Vojvodina.

The factory in Inđija currently has 21 workers and hiring of another 70 to 100 people is in the pipeline.
