Ambassador of Sweden to Serbia Jan Lundin stated on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, that IKEA would gradually create many jobs in Serbia and expand its network of cooperation with other companies.
– These are good things for everyday life. Serbia and Sweden have an intensive cooperation, but I believe we can cooperate much more in terms of economy and business. The opening of the IKEA department store is a good example. It now employs 300 people, which is a good thing. This is a good company, which takes care of its employees – Lundin said for Tanjug at the celebration of the National Day of Sweden and the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Sweden, which took place at the White Palace.
As he said, IKEA will spread its network of cooperation with other companies in Serbia step by step, and he also noted that the company already cooperated with the Cuprija-based company Standard Furniture Serbia, which delivers rolling pins globally through this store chain.
– This is an enormous production and there will be many more such instances of cooperation in which Serbian products will be bought. Also, Tetrapak is already producing huge amounts of packaging products in Gornji Milanovac for the whole world. They ship more than three billion packaging products a year. This is one of the larger tetrapak companies in the world and it has a lot of potential – Lundin said.
